There are no set ways of doing it.
The problem that I have been asked about the most is how to get what's floating around in the brain to paper. That initiated a book currently titled Grey Matter to Pulp. The creation of this work has been slow going.
The most beneficial thing I can say at this point is just jot it down, the rest works its self out.

Practice, practice, practice. The more you write, the easier it comes!
